Medieval Bihar served as an important corridor for Sikh dispersal to other areas in eastern and north-eastern India. Will talk about some such gurudwara which has now disappeared from everyone's eyes(Bihar).

Nabinagar Road Railway Station.

Nabinagar is a Town in Nabinagar Block(Bank On PunPun River) in Aurangabad District of Bihar State, India. It belongs to Magadh Division . It is located 34 KM towards west from District head quarters Aurangabad. It is a Block head quarter. The Ruins old Gurudwara Located 15 km far from Railway station and 1 km from Nabinagar Bus stand. Location of old Gurudwara is Bhawanokhap in sanghat sthan(1 km far from Nabinagar Bus stand)

History About that place :- The Sikh monument at Nabinagar, is an unusual place of worship, embodying a unique spirit of secularism. The Gurudwara assumes even greater significance as it is also the 'samaadhi' of Nanki Mata ji mother of 9thGuru Teg Bahadur.According to sources, after the death of mata Nanaki ji,her cremation was done here.

9th Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, after ascending to the throne in 1665 AD, started a long journey to eastern India in August 1673 AD. Guru Tegh Bahadur was accompanied by his mother Nanaki ji and wife Gujriji.

Through Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Kanpur, Fatehpur, Prayag, Mirzapur, Banaras, Sasram, Gaya, Aurangabad, Guru Tegh Bahadur's family reached Patna after a year in 1666 AD, in this sequence, Guru Tegh Bahadur's family stayed here for some time.

It is said that sitting on a nearby platform, Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh used to meditate and write Guruvani. The Gurudwara was looked after by Mahant Santdas ji, after him Dharni Das, Mahant Anant Das, Sant Nanak Das and Mahant Ramprasad Das were doing it.It is said that it was built from 1670 to 1696(? ).

9th Guru Tegh Bahadur's Sword,Stand of Mata Nanaki (mother of Guru Tegh Bahadur)    Guru Tegh-Bahadur's Grace(kirpan).was also kept but now these important relics have been sent to Karhara Gurudwara. (Karhara is 8 km far from Aurangabad District of Bihar.)   

A Shiva temple is also built in the Gurudwara complex. Next to the temple is an ancient octagonal well adjacent to the Gurudwara, in which the water has not dried up yet, but the well has been filled with garbage. The Punpun River flows behind the Gurdwara. The inner room of the Gurdwara houses the Guru Granth Sahib. There is a platform and a samadhi in the hall-like room nearby.Earlier, the annual festival was celebrated on the day of Sawan Purnima in the Gurudwara premises. The prasad of the kadah was distributed. But due to the departure of all the Sikhs, now neither the festival is made nor the prasad is distributed.

Balmakhira tree is available inside the boundary wall of the Gurudwara. Balmakhira is used as a pain reliever.

This old building needs protection
The tourism department has taken it in its list? (DISTRICT )but there is a lack of protection.

In the year 2000, the relic of the memory has been kept in the Bahara Gurdwara (Karhara) for the devotees to visit. Karhara Gurdwara is located on Grand Road, about 8 kms from Aurangabad district headquarter.

Sadly Old Gurudwara in Nabinagar no one care. Need to protect Heritage of Bihar.
